[Grovenet] Reminder to turn in ballots early

Just a friendly reminder since ballots are going out in two days.
When you turn in your ballot the elections office makes a note of the
fact that it is already in.
The candidates will often update their phone lists every few days
with this information from the elections office and cross off the
people who have already turned in their ballots.
So, if you turn in your ballot early you have a much better chance of
getting off the phone lists in just the number of days it takes to
update the lists.
This is not a recommendation to vote in haste but if you know how the
system works you can use that information to decide whether you want
to mail your ballot sooner rather than later after you make up your
mind. (We used to wait to turn ours in until the last minute because
it felt more like voting at the polling place, but now we turn them
in a lot earlier.)
Some of you might miss a phone call from me because I'm going to go
volunteer to make some of these calls since this is an incredibly
important election (they are all equally important but still some are
more 'equal' than others). But it won't hurt my feelings any if your
name is not on the list because you turned in your ballots already.
Everybody has a different limit for how many phones calls it takes to
make just a few too many. I am often surprised by the number of
people who actually say thanks for the reminder call because their
ballot is sitting on the desk and they just hadn't gotten around to
mailing it yet and they didn't want to forget. There are more of
those than there are people who tell you to go to h e double
toothpicks, just in case you wanted to know why volunteers put up
with all the rude people.

Or drop it off at the drop boxes and save the stamp....
