Agree w/you 100% Steven.  And when I re-read my posting I realized I didn't quite get it right on what I wanted to say: without a sales tax AND WITH OUR STATE INCOME TAX, it makes it great for visitors but we get no tax revenues from those visitors and thus Oregon residents are stuck funding the government almost all by our lonesome.

Lower some of our other taxes and a sales tax makes sense.
Oregonians have lost faith in their leadership to cut a tax.
