Have you seen the tv ad about growing tomatoes upside down bucket?
I have, but I made my own hanging plant holder, cause I was not about to
spend $19.99 plus shipping... and the tomatoes turned out surprisingly
good... actually ... by hanging on my deck to where they got all the sun
light they need, I even made up a home made water system so that when
the plant needed water it feed itself. 
I have had good luck with the early girl, lemon, and the (burpees?) big
boy verities.  I have not tried the heirloom types, cause I just like to
keep using what works for an olehoss...
