[Grovenet] MACs for Christmas

I haven't had a single issue with my PCs (three of them in use) for over a
decade at least. No crashes. No viruses. No lost data. I don't "overclock"
processors and tinker incessantly with the computers, nor do I load every
bit of software I hear about.
My PCs are business tools. I treat them as such and they've worked reliably
and flawlessly.
I avoid being an "early adopter" of the latest and greatest new fad. Even
if, after doing a cost/benefits analysis, I choose to adopt the new machine
or software, I understand that all products have a certain danger of
potential issues at first. That's true of computers, cars and other
technology.
No company is immune to a stumble. Remember all those people who spend big
bucks on an Apple "Lisa"?
As Chuck certainly knows, the growth in Apple market share (due in no small
part by Apple machines running Microsoft programs in greater numbers) has
brought with it a steady growth in virus and worm attacks. Anyone with
either a pc or a Mac who doesn't run a good virus program is worse than
careless, they are "drunk drivers" on the internet information highway,
operating machines capable of doing immense harm to other uses and the
internet itself. It doesnt matter whether they are using a PC or a Mac or
what OS they are running.
Even so, as Chuck reports, for every 8 Macs out there, there are 92 PCs.

Hi, Chuck,
The joke among Mac owners (like me) is that Windows Vista is really Windows
Visa (as in take out your Visa to update all your applications, take out
your
Visa to update all your utilities, take out your Visa to increase your RAM,
etc.). :-)
