To paraphrase Barack Obama:

This campaign will not paint our opponents as enemies.  It will not  
use religion as a wedge or patriotism as a bludgeon.

Behind it all Americans are decent patriots, from the revolution to  
Gettysburg, to the Greatest Generation, to women's rights, to Selma,  
and so it must be for us.

Care for the sick, jobs for the jobless, end the war, secure our  
nation as the last best hope for the world, to reflect our best  
selves and our highest ideals.
