Yes, read what he has to say and make your decision on that research.

Obama is quite liberal and makes no bones about it. If that doesn't
appeal to you, that is a valid determinant for your vote.

McCain is ...

Well I am not sure. He seems to have changed a lot in the last four
years. At one time he was moderate, and now he is fighting to
convince Republicans that he is a Reagan conservative. If that sort
of inconsistency bothers you, that may be a determinant for your vote.

I certainly wouldn't base my vote on anything that McCain wrote or
signed while he was in Hanoi. That part of his history only serves
to demonstrate that torture produces wildly inaccurate statements
from prisoners. So, you might think that McCain would be opposed to
torture, ... well he is and he isn't.

Ron Paul is pretty consistent as a libertarian Republican, and he has
a message that has been constant in both of his presidential
campaigns. But, some states require that candidates who appear on a
primary ballot on one party, may not appear as an independent upon
the general ballot. I think this is the case in Oregon.

Someone said that "if the terrorists can force us to change our
behavior and give up our rights, then they have accomplished their
goal." In that respect, Bush has acted as a "fellow traveler" and
assisted them in their goals. I personally do not wish to support
any candidate who wants to work toward the goal of moving us further
away from our Constitutional rights than Bush has taken us.

You have read "1984". When the administration wanted to go to war,
we were fed a diet of "Iraq has WMD's", when it was proven that that
was a lie (not a mistake, a lie) then the "thought speak" was changed
to a diet of "building a democracy in Iraq". And the good followers
started to chant the new "truth".
