[Grovenet] Communiation is not as easy as one would hope

I love those old stories.
One I read in a little plaque in SanFran. A man deposited $30k in a bank.
Within minutes the bank closed, it had gone under. He went to the docks to
rush to Portland where there another branch of the bank. At the docks he saw
an executive of the bank getting on a ship to head to Portland. His only
hope was to beat him to Portland.
He road day and night, buying fresh horses along the way. Beat the boat by
only minutes. Got his money out of the bank just before it was closed.
Created the fastest overland speed from the bay area to PDX.
