[Grovenet] Irv update-2nd attempt

Bob,

Problems with the unions were not as large a factor as the discontent among the community for Irv here in FG. The anti Irv sentiment had been brewing for years and was coming to a head just before he resigned.

Also, his problems with teachers was actually not as much a union issue as a general discontent issue. It was not driven from the union leadership, but began as a "grass-roots" issue which eventually manifested itself as a union issue.

His "strong personality" and "puffery," in my opinion, were a mask for a lack of substance.

An odd headline when the only "trouble" in his past seems to be that the unions don't like him because he has a strong personality.

And, he would have been on the team, even if for a short time. A bit of puffery perhaps, but not as bad as stealing a loaf of bread, even if your kids are starving.

Looks to me like Channel 6 was having a slow news day!!
