[Grovenet] The Problem with Electing Authoritarian Conservatives

I think it must at least be less stressful to be more "liberal" than
the general populace. (Unless, of course, you live in a dictatorship
in which the general populace regards "liberalism" itself as a
crime). Generally speaking, "liberals" seem to regard the world as
capable of improvement, and humanity as mostly good. This attitude
fosters an optimistic attitude, and combats feelings of helplessness,
apathy and resignation.
