[Grovenet] Forest Grove Charter Review process

In case you hadn't noticed, the FG Charter Review committee is holding the 
first of two public hearings on the revised charter on Tuesday evening. 
Schedule below. Most of the changes are cleaning out provisions that are now 
covered by state law. Rather confusing to have local provisions that are in 
conflict or at variance with state laws that trump local ordinances anyway.

Tuesday, October 21, 2008, 7:00 p.m., Community Auditorium

First Public Forum (Charter Review Committee is seeking public input on the 
proposed Charter Draft).

Thursday, November 6, 2008, 7:00 p.m., Community Auditorium

Second Public Forum (Charter Review Committee’s last public forum to seek 
input on the proposed Charter Draft and to finalize list of all amendments 
for Final Document and Committee Report). 

Monday, November 24, 2008, 7:00 p.m., Community Auditorium

Charter Review Committee will be presenting its Final Report and 
Recommendation to the City Council and will ask Council to consider adopting 
a Resolution Calling for an Election on March 10, 2009, to submit a Charter 
Amendment to the Voters.
