If the AIP are interested in independence from the USA, perhaps they  
should ask Russia for assistance.  Russia gave military support to  
the break away provinces of Georgia.

And based upon the dependence of Alaska on the federal government for  
money and defense, I would expect that Russia would be there quickly  
should the US relax the hold on that state.  Just a thought.
