[Grovenet] Service

I just listened to a speaker at the Republican National Convention
talking about service, and she said "some candidates have more
experience with 'service' than others."

I guess she believes that people doing military service at war in
foreign countries, somehow are doing more 'service' than social
service improving the lives of Americans in the cities of this
country. Different yes. Dangerous yes. More? Hmmm?

The same speaker said, "Government is not a philanthropic
organization, government is not the family, and government certainly
is not the church. Republicans realize that when you keep more of
your money you are able to choose which charities you should spend
your money."

There is truth in that statement. And I can be said that Republicans
want you to be able to keep 'what is yours'. With some exceptions.

Republicans want you to keep what is yours, unless it is your job.
Then you to be able to have lower taxes, on your unemployment payments.

Republicans want you to keep what is yours, unless it is your
retirement package. Then it can be sold and dismantled.

Republicans want you to keep what is yours, unless it is your home.
Then they want the banking industry to may a profit over your loss.
