Hi Mark, and welcome to the "posters"
What you have experienced is, IMHO, typical. You will probably be able to get info only if you appear before the City Council and sign up for "Citizen Comments" before the meeting. Then ask your question in the open meeting and watch the mayor's usual dance.

Hi Grovenetters,
While I have been a member since its inception, I have not posted to GN as
of late.
Recently I became aware of development plans for Forest Grove.
It is my understanding that an individual has approached the city with a
proposal to donate money to purchase a flag pole.
I have heard that the proposal was accepted by the Mayor, but here is the
rub.
It will be installed in the triangle in the confluence of Pacific and 19th
streets. It is proposed to be the largest flagpole in Oregon with a mammoth
flag. It will be illuminated in the evening by multiple lights and will
take 3 firefighters and a truck to raise and lower the flag when deference
requires.
I emailed the Mayor asking for information about this plan last week,
however he has not responded. Furthermore I was told that this was not a
plan that was going to be put forward for any citizen comment; a "done
deal".
I have read nothing on the list regarding this.
Does anyone have any further knowledge about this idea or any particulars
they would be willing to share?
Thanks,
Mark
