I'd call it carelessness on your part!

Saturation this Saturday
In a previous sweep I was stopped in Cornelius
by a sheriff. He said I went
through a yellow light.
I told him that it turned yellow after I had
passed the crosswalk. He
agreed, then said that he didn't see me signal a
lane change.
I had changed lanes because another officer was
pulled over ahead. I pointed
out that the lane change was required by the new
laws. I did signal but he
could have missed it in the sun setting light.
After reviewing all my records, my insurance
card expired the week before,
my new one had not arrived.
So I got a ticket for the lack of proof of
insurance. A fine I had to pay in
Beaverton.
Seeing a bunch of police pulling every car over
to find any problem they
could is not very pleasant. A simple warning
would have been nice.
I guess I'll look at it as paying rent for the
road, eh?
