Hello all,

My name is Liam Cooper, you may know my father Jeff. Recently I was
appointed the Student Adviser to the City of Forest Grove Public Arts
Commission and my first order of business was to organize a local Music
Festival, with the majority of the proceeds going to the American Cancer
Society, whom I have talked to and will again on Tuesday.

I spoke with the Arts Commission Chair Kathleen Leatham, and she gave me the
green light to make a rough outline of the event. At the moment I am looking
at possible venues, perhaps Lincoln Park or Pacific University, and welcome
input from Forest Grove residents. I also would like to hear from you
regarding bands and solo artists who would be willing to play for free.

This will be a benefit concert for the American Cancer Society, and although
it's unlikely Bono will attend, I'm hoping that we could get some Portland
area bands.
This is in the planning stages for the summer, and any and all input is
welcome.

Here is my first draft outline for the event:
--Summer Music Fest Benefit for Cancer
--Food/drink/concessions to be determined
--Sound system and amps to be determined (bands may need to provide their
own, although we will work towards having a pre-set stage)
--Not currently tied to Forest Grove School District (may change)
--Any and all input will be greatly appreciated
--Please contact me by February 3rd, 2009
--Auditions to be held between mid-February to early March.

So if you know of a band, are in a band, have connections to a band, or wish
to be involved with this Festival, please contact me at:
