Dear Friends,
According to a study published by the research firm NPD Group, although most people start thinking about losing weight in January, it isn't until March that they actually do something about it. Why March? NPD's theory is that in March, swimsuit season is just around the corner, making the idea of dropping a few pounds much more attractive.

Whatever your reason, working towards your ideal weight is both a challenge and a real long-term boon to your health. The good news is, you're not alone. Hundreds of millions of people around the world have the same problems, and are looking for help. Today we have a much better understanding of the mechanisms of weight loss, and the most effective ways to get the best possible results.

Surprisingly, even very modest lifestyle changes can help enormously.
  - When going to work or class, try taking the stairs instead of the elevator.
  - When grocery shopping, park at the far end of the lot, instead of near the door (your car will get fewer dings in the doors, as well!).
  - Get a cordless phone and walk around the house while you're talking.
  - Get an iPod, so you can listen to audiobooks or podcasts while taking a walk.

Of course, these days we can't always eat food we prepare ourselves. Here are a few tips for ordering at restaurants:
  - Avoid anything deep fried (especially french fries). Be sure you have some raw fruits or vegetables at each meal.
  - Bacon is not your friend. Just say "No". Most of today's bacon is loaded with harmful nitrates, not to mention the fat and cholesterol which go straight to your hips and arteries, respectively.
  - Avoid creamy salad dressings. Go with a little oil and vinegar instead.
  - If possible, start your meal with a broth soup (no cream soups or chowders, sorry). The broth will help you feel full and satisfied... without adding a lot of calories. (The Scandinavians have known this for centuries!)
  - For dinner, try a salad topped with grilled organic chicken or fish.
  - Stop eating BEFORE you feel full. The stomach has a "delay mechanism" built in. It can take as long as 15 minutes for your brain to "catch up" and signal you to stop eating. You'll feel better afterwards, too.

Believe it or not, these kinds of small, incremental changes add up! Of course, from my perspective no weight loss program would be complete without what I call "Nature's Little Miracles", powerful yet gentle healing herbs. Whole herbs can do everything from turbo-charging your metabolism to helping you resist destructive cravings. Of course, what herbs you should take depends on what your own weight loss challenge is. This is the reason I've put together 3 different, targeted weight loss kits. Each includes my own whole herb formulas, as well as a free step-by-step healing program. As always, by buying the kits you save 20% off over buying everything separately.
