And miss the opportunity to be counted as an EV on Oregon roads?  The
registration fee may be twice as much, but you don't pay any of the road
taxes for fuel.  At almost 50 cents/gallon, you're still ahead.

I'd like the state and the city to know there are EV's out there (where do
you think the bean-counters will go to count?) so the charging stations will
remain.
