ICE - Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles..
Are not as efficient vs. warm weather operation because two main reasons:
1) Extended warm-up time..
A) ICE's take more time to reach operating temperatures and are
less efficient during the warm-up.
B) Added idle time for clearing windows of snow and ice and fog.
2) Engines draw more air because it is denser in cold temperatures and
therefore automatically
add more fuel to maintain the air fuel ratio. IE. most speed records are
set on cold days or
in the early morning.
I am curious as well, about the efficiency of an EV, since most of them use
lead acid batteries which are not very efficient below 55° F.
