Here is one tid-bit that may be worth looking into for the charging
sub-group:

The 2009 Canadian Electrical Code has a new capacity standard approved for
> parking spot plug-ins. These higher energy outlets will allow for about 50%
> faster battery recharging.

It would not likely apply in the US, but it's worth looking into.
