Brammo raises $10 million US for Electric Motorcycle launch (Funding)
Brammo, an Oregon-based startup, has raised $10 million US from investors to
bring The Enertia ,an electric motorcycle, to market later this fall. The
Enertia has an initial cost of $15,000 US -- perhaps dropping to $12,500 US
after economies of scale are realized -- and can travel 45 miles on a single
charge. According to the company web site, that equates to roughly 534 miles
per gallon. About 100,000 people have expressed interest in the Enertia.
Chrysalix Energy Venture Capital, and the venture capital arm of Best Buy
were among the investors. (Source: Earth2Tech, September 22, 2008).
