A multi-lateral statewide effort is underway to secure funding through
the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to accelerate the
deployment of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure a certain types
of other reduced emission vehicles.  In order to build a project budget,
we need to estimate the amount of matching funds that local entities,
both public and private, will be willing to invest in the program in late
2009
through 2011.

Please review the attached documents carefully and follow the
instructions for submitting the "Soft Order" form.  Feel free to pass it
along to other entities you think might be interested in participating
in the grant - we want to cast the widest net possible to maximize the
benefits of the request.  Some of you may have responded to an earlier
survey just on EVs, but this grant opportunity encompasses charging
stations and a broader spectrum of vehicles.  If we are successful, we
will have a one-time chance at significantly reducing the cost of
transitioning to a greener transportation system.
