Hello All,

Regarding the charging station at Banks, the construction is complete. We are working with the utility company to get it powered up based on their crews' schedule. It may be a few weeks. We will put information on our social media pages when this gets powered up and commissioned.

In the meantime, here are some pictures of the site in Banks (Jim's Thriftway)!

Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.

I've seen their Detroit also...sometime last year. It needs a lot of work as I recall, but would have to look at my pics to elaborate.

Good morning all,

Last week I visited the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automotive Museum (WAAAM) in Hood River and discovered that they have a 1914 Detroit Electric that was recently donated to their collection. WAAAM is an all-volunteer non-profit. They don't offer static exhibits. All of their collection are operational or in the process of restoration.

Unfortunately the Detroit Electric is no operational and they are in the process of restoring it. They are more than happy to take donations of time, technical expertise and funding. I thought this would be a project the OEVA members may want to support.

You can check WAAAM's site (http://www.waaamuseum.org/). Your welcome to email me at wheelerk at spiritone.com for efforts to restore the Detroit Electric.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hello fellow OEVA members,

I have two individual battery racks that I welded and painted from 1.5"
angled steel, very sturdy and heavy. They are designed for the large,
standard flooded golf cart sized lead-acid batteries and leave about 1/2"
around all four sides to place an enclosure around. The paint is chipping
in a couple of small spots where the acid has contacted them. They have
two small angled tabs welded on opposite corners to place 1/4" threaded rod
through as hold downs. I no longer have room for them and they are free if
anyone wants them or wants more info just email me back.

Hood River now has a DC Fast Charger.

I hear that there is DCFC at Burgerville off Powell Blvd near I-205 in East
Portland.

Also, PlugShare has a DCFC listed in Banks, but says it is not powered on
yet (the report is 4 days old now).

Anyone tried any of these yet?

Regards,
Pat

I've called Blink about the one at Burgerville. After much searching
they found that it is theirs. They didn't think it was working yet and
of course had no estimate of when it would be. The folks at Burgerville
were very excited and pleased to have it but they think it's working now
because there it a big pretty display out there. Blink seems really
good at getting that huge TV running but not so good at getting the
charger to actually work.

The one in Banks seems even further off. From what I could find there
isn't even a hole in the ground yet.

I wish people wouldn't put things on PlugShare that aren't working
yet.

And speaking of not working: the Blinks at the Hollywood Freds are in
their usually broken state again. Even the level 2 has a "busted" sign
on it. If you give the DCQC a try stand by it and watch. My experience
is that it doesn't run very long before it throws an error and stops.
When I was there we had 4 EVs there trying to use the Blink. I was able
to get 7% added with about a dozen starts. Somebody there with a week
old Leaf was desperate and didn't have his Blink card yet. He was able
to get 20% added.
