Solutions Engineer

ECOtality North America is currently looking for a Solutions Engineer (SE)
in a dynamic technology development environment. This role is both
customer facing and supports the functional definition of Blink products,
services and solutions. The ability to join science and ingenuity to solve
unusual and complex problems is what we need. Candidates will demonstrate
an ability to participate/drive hardware/software development areas
including design, development, test and validation. Also, candidates will
demonstrate ability to represent Blink products in customer facing
situations including onsite demonstrations, web demonstrations, webinars,
and trade shows. The SE must possess the ability to present complex
solutions to large audiences while maintaining and environment of high
energy and enthusiasm

Candidates will enjoy working in a small company environment and will be
willing to participate in other areas of the Company’s business.
Candidates will be self-starters, comfortable working with little
supervision, will be capable of providing their own direction and will
excel at learning new skills and technologies.

Job Purpose

To support outward facing customer integrations, product demonstrations,
support, sales support, standards committees, technical question support,
as well as internal facing requirements/product definition, drive workshop
meetings, project management, steering committees and internal
presentations, develop requirements documentations, technical
documentation, etc.

Essential Job Duties

·        Drive functionality and technical definition of Blink
products/services to meet business and customer requirements/objectives.

·        Create Functional Requirements, Technical Requirements, Project
Plans, ROI Analysis and Test Plans to support projects.

·        Interface between technology resources and customer/business
owners within ECOtality in providing products and solutions.

·        Ensures projects are completed according to defined success
criteria by leading and overseeing teams in the design, development and
implementation of projects. Reviews project plans for alignment with
departmental standards, business expectations, feasibility and integration
with other projects. Ensures delivery of reliable high performance
applications and technical services.

·        Manages vendor relationships by reviewing progress and evaluating
and measuring performance.

·        Protects the Company by handling business sensitive information
with appropriate confidentiality.

·        Communicate product features and benefits to prospective
customers in the form of presentations. Presentations may be live, or via
Web-delivery mechanisms.

·        Present products in customer facing events, including seminars,
conferences and trade shows.

·        Respond to technical questions or requirements about products.
Effectively overcome objections and position the product against the
competition.

·        Provide pre-sales technical support and presentations for
Business Partners.

·        Build quality relationships and trust with all Blink Network
prospects and clients.

·        Become an effective Blink Network product evangelist

·        Develop and maintain a reliable, flexible demonstration
environment which can be tailored to specific demonstration requirements.

·        Ensures projects are aligned with department standards and
business expectations by reviewing functional plans based on acceptance
criteria and cost justification.

·        Approves proposed project requirements and designs. Recommends
course corrections to meet changing requirements.

·        Travel is required, and may be up to 20% of the time.

Skills/Requirements

Experience:

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in the manufacturing or engineering
industry

·         Experience in end to end hardware and software solutions
engineering

Education

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related
field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         PMP certification preferred.

Skills:

·         Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Financial / budgeting acumen.

·         Ability to resolve divergent interests and make quick, effective
decisions.
