My experience is just the opposite.  Don’t let the AC run.  Use DEF with a high fan.  

Once you use the AC the coil gets all frosty or wet and then dumps huge amounts of water whenever it’s not running.  

Yes, running the AC will dry the air but only if you keep it running it forever.  IMHO
