I was just thinking this exact thing!!!

Comes down to cost:

*       $90 for an inlet

*       $120 or so for a plug with 25ft or so of cord

Is it worth $210 and how lucky do you feel about walking away from your cord while it’s charging?

Looks like when long trips are considered on Leaf/Thinks - one must have a 20 foot J1772 extender.  When I owned Leaf - I did find myself in such situations where only parking possible - was right behind EV that's long done charging.  No standard EVSE has cord that long.

If you wanted to spend some money you could have paid to have one towed out far enough for you to get in.  Just leave it in the middle of the parking lot.

Usually the level 2 plugs have enough cord to reach a fair ways.  I’m surprised you couldn’t get yourself close enough to reach.

If not, then check for other local chargers that I could use.  And get some cards printed up that point out the problem to the EV owners and leave one on each car the next time it happens.
