Hi there. I wanted to make sure you got this newsletter.

Mark your calendar! National Drive Electric Week 2017
is *September 9th - 17th*. The seventh annual NDEW celebration is gearing
up to be the best year yet for EV enthusiasts and the public at large to
learn about all the great benefits of going electric.
We encourage you to:
- *Organize and register an event (and maybe win $250).* There are
already more than 100 events registered for this year. Not one near
here, and make it happen!
If you register and answer a few simple demographic questions, you'll be
entered to win $250! If there is an event near you registered, contact the
event organizer on the site and offer to help.
- *Create a lasting impact so your event isn't just about one day.* Be
sure to work with policymakers or business leaders to use your event as a
hook to launch a new EV policy or program (new charging stations, new
consumer or employee incentive, new electric buses, etc). To learn tips on
how to best do this, watch this great webinar
- *Sponsor National Drive Electric Week.* It's a great way for your
company to reach a large audience and help us make NDEW big. More
information on sponsorship here.
- *Spread the word!* Visit our resource page
for tips on how to kick-off publicity and social media campaigns, get local
sponsorship support, engage with elected officials
Last year was a successful, record-breaking year. We celebrated at 235
events in 212 cities, seven countries, 46 US states and eight Canadian
provinces. Our city captains reported more than 120,000 people attended
events, demonstrating how fun electric vehicles are to drive through about
7,500 demo rides and test drives. You can check out photos from past years
shared by City Captains all over the world.
Since Sierra Club, Plug In America, and Electric Auto Association first
joined with EV enthusiasts to organize the first National Plug In Day (now
National Drive Electric Week) back in 2011, electric car sales have
increased significantly. In fact, major automakers such as Nissan, Ford,
BMW, VW, and General Motors -and of course Tesla- have invested billions in
developing state-of-the-art vehicles, with more coming online in 2017. Check
out Sierra Club's online EV Guide
to see the list of these great plug-in models.
Many thanks for supporting National Drive Electric Week! If you have any
questions or ideas about how to get involved, contact Mary Lunetta at
