David Abel* is a poet, editor, and teacher, and the proprietor of 
Passages Bookshop. Three new books just out: /Float/ 
<http://www.chax.org/poets/abel.htm>, a full-length collection of 
collage texts (Chax Press); /Tether/, a chapbook of poems (Bare bone 
books); and /Carrier/, a sequence of "hypergraphic" visual poems (c_L). 
With Sam Lohmann, he publishes Airfoil 
<http://airfoilchapbooks.blogspot.com> chapbooks; a founding member of 
the Spare Room reading series <http://www.flim.com/spareroom/>, he also 
teaches writing, most recently at the Multnomah Arts Center, where from 
2009--2012 he was the coordinator of the Literary Arts program. He is a 
Research Fellow of the Center for Art + Environment

of the artists' collective 13 Hats; last fall he curated the 
international exhibition /Object Poems/

Standard Schaefer* is a poet, essayist, and fiction writer. His first 
book of poetry, /Nova/

was selected for the 1999 National Poetry Series; his second book, 
/Water & Power/

published by Agincourt in 2005. /Desert Notebook/ was published in Italy 
and the US in 2008 in limited editions. His poetry has been translated 
into Italian and anthologized internationally, and he has co-edited 
several literary and arts journals including/Ribot, New Review of 
Literature, Rhizome, /and/Or/. He has taught writing and literature at 
Otis College of Art (Los Angeles) and California College of the Arts 
(San Francisco). His latest book of poems, /The Notebook of False 
Purgatories/, is forthcoming from Chax Press. A member of the artists' 
collective 13 Hats, he lives in Portland with his wife and daughter.
