Eileen Myles is a poet, playwright, and prose writer. Over the past
thirty-five years, she has published more than twenty volumes of work
spanning genres. “There are so many different packages for the same
energy to travel through,” she has said.

This fall, Ecco will publish /I Must Be Living Twice: New and Selected
Poems, 1975-2014/. Accompanying this volume is a reissue of /Chelsea
Girls/, Myles’s autobiographical novel, which cobbles together memories
of Myles’s Catholic upbringing with an alcoholic father, her volatile
adolescence, her unabashed “lesbianity,” and her riotous pursuit of
survival as a poet in 1970s New York.
