C. Savage.

============================
*
Arrington de Dionyso* integrates ancient soundmaking techniques with
trans-modernist inquiries into the nature of consciousness. His
improvisations utilize voice and reeds (primarily bass clarinets and his
invention the Bromiophone) as multiphonic tools in the navigation of
liminal spaces between shamanic seance and rock and roll ecstasy.  He
has spearheaded groups such as Old Time Relijun, Malaikat dan Singa, and
This Saxophone Kills Fascists, and has performed alongside the Violent
Femmes, Master Musicians of Jajouka, Thee Oh Sees, Deerhoof, Senyawa,
Keiji Haino, and Maher Shalal Hash Baz, among others. In 2016 he
completed a film, /Reak: Trance Music and Possession in West Java/,
documenting a groundbreaking collaboration with the participants of a
trance possession ceremony in Sunda, Indonesia. His set on June 8th will
reflect inspiration gathered from recent collaborations with Bachir
Attar of the Master Musicians of Jajouka and Chirgilchin, the
throat-singers of Tuva. More on his Bandcamp page
<https://arrington.bandcamp.com>.

*China Faith Star* produces endless art across multiple dimensions of
media, music, & performance. Her recent work has included solo and group
exhibitions of visual art; music & poetics performances both solo and
with a wide range of collaborators (as Liquid Letters, Psychic Fire
Duet/Trio/Quarter, etc.); and public commissions, details of which can
be found in the Artista Vita
<http://www.chinafaithstar.com/artista-vita.html> on her web site,
Liquid Letters <http://www.chinafaithstar.com/liquid-letters.html>,
which also features images and sound and video files.

*John C. Savage* has been compared to Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Jean-Pierre
Rampal, Herbie Mann, Noah Howard, Ian Anderson, and Colin Stetson. A
flutist, saxophonist, composer, improviser, and educator, he has
performed and recorded with Billy Fox and Mark Dresser, Brooklyn Qawwali
Party, Andrew Hill Big Band, Kitsune Ensemble, Point to Line (with
flutist Lisa Bost-Sandberg), and the poetry and music duo,Thick in the
Throat, Honey, among many others. His dissertation /A Phenomenology of
Contemporary Flute Improvisation: Contextual Explications of Techniques,
Aesthetics, and Performance Practices/ uses analytical techniques from
the fields of ethnomusicology (ethnography) and music philosophy
(phenomenology) in order to create a theory of flute performance and
pedagogy for the twenty-first century. Read more (and listen and watch)
at his website <http://www.johncsavage.com/>.
