The 5-lobed leaves on this medium-sized japanese maple are a reliable reddish color throughout the summer if grown in full sun. Under these conditions they can take on a really appealing color (difficult to describe) in midsummer. Brilliant red fall color. Introduced at least as early as 1893. An graceful, upright, full plant to about 10'. Zones: USDA 6; Sunset 2-10, 12, 14-24, Alaska-3.
