Commonly considered to be one of the choicest small japanese maples, this plant is aptly named. Bright coral red in spring, fading to red-green but with new growth maintaining the coral red colors. This semidwarf plant is very slow growing, eventually reaching 6-10' in twice as many years. Best color in full sun, although Corallinum prefers a little summer shade in very hot areas. Zones: USDA 6; Sunset 2-10, 12, 14-24, Alaska-3.
