Medium sized, upright tree to 6-8'.
5 finely divided red lobes have good color all year round, becoming
more scarlet in fall as seen here. Found in an Italian garden and introduced
in the Netherlands in 1969. Similar to Atrolineare but leaves smaller, less
drooping and more delicate. (In the right foreground is our unusual Acer Triflorum
with outstanding yellow fall color; in the left background is our '68 Ford P/U
which moved us here from Florida in 1970, lately just as sedentary as the trees). Zones: USDA 6; Sunset 2-10, 12, 14-24,
Alaska-3.
