Of much smaller demeanor than it's eastern relative, the California or Western Redbud is suitable for smaller gardens.  It may grow in large bush or small tree form, often with multiple trunks. Its spring flowers attract Rufous Hummingbirds.  Native as far north in the Sacramento Valley as Lake Shasta, perhaps this attractive tree occurs somewhere naturally in southern Oregon.  Takes hot, dry conditions very well.  Grows 10-12',  Zones 7-9.
