Book Categories
- Cookbooks
- I'm not only a computer geek but also a food geek. From time to time
I'll add some of my favorite cookbooks to this page. My special
interests are in ethnic cuisine and healthy eating.
- Database
- These books address databases, both their use and programming. I'm a
heavy user of MySQL under Linux, and I'm learning about PalmOS databases
as well.
- Computer Languages
- When you've been a computer weenie as long as I have, you end up knowing
many computer languages. Since I'm running Linux these days, most of
my programming is done either in Perl or in shell scripts. I've never
really been a completely competent C programmer, and that's something
I'd like to address.
- Palm Pilot
- My Palm Pilot is my favorite gadget. Actually, I'm not much of a gadget
geek, but this is one that I just love. Someday I hope to have my Palm
and my web site joined at the hip.
- Security
- Security is a topic that is becoming more and more important as more and
more sensitive information is accessible via the Internet. These titles
address some of things we mere mortals can do to enhance the security of
our data, at least of that data we wish to keep secure from prying eyes.
- Web
- The World Wide Web is where it's at! I mean, really, aren't you reading
this page on the Web? Learning how to use the Web to your advantage is
what these books are all about.
