The Dream of the Mysterious Lighthouse Treasure

By Grace Battle

It all began one day I when was reading the newspaper at breakfast and I came upon the words: "Mystery of Treasure." It was spelled in big bold letters. Since that was very eye catching I continued reading on. It said that for anyone who finds the treasure may keep it. Then it said clue: It was hidden in something big, tall, and helps people with a sort of light. I thought of a lighthouse. So I got dressed to go to a lighthouse that I new of a few miles away. This lighthouse that I new of had been standing for over 100 years.

As I was driving down the road I saw the light house that I was looking for. So I tried to find a very close parking space. When I entered the lighthouse it was pitch dark. There was a light switch with spider webs covering it. I was trying to think of someplace that would be hidden. But I couldn’t think of anything so I kept walking around to see if I could see anything that looked mysterious. I saw a very tiny door that looked like it would have to lead to something. So I went through the very tiny door to see what I could find.

When I entered, I saw a big waterfall that had a bunch of coins, jewelry, and other valuable things lying around. Luckily I brought a very large bag with me. As I was gathering up the coins, jewelry , and other valuable items, I heard a noise. I didn’t pay much attention to it so I continued. But then I heard it again. Bang, bang, bang, on the door over and over again. So I opened the door very quietly to see who it could be.

"Surprise!" they yelled. "You have just gained over one million dollars! What do you have to say for yourself?"

I said, "Ahhhhhh!" They scared me so badly that I ran out screaming and yelling, "Help me, help me!"

Once I got out to my car, I stood there wondering why I had dropped my bag and run from the people. So I walked back into the lighthouse, and entered through the tiny door, and saw nothing. It was all gone. Everything was completely silent. There was no gold, coins, or anything that was valuable. It had all disappeared.

"Wake up, wake up, it’s time for you to get read to go to school."

"Ahhhhh!" I screamed. "What happened?"

"It was only a dream," my mom yelled. "It’s time to get ready for school."

So I got up, got dressed, made breakfast, and sat down to read a newspaper. The newspaper said, "Mystery of treasure." It was spelled in big bold letters…

THE END.
