U. S. - CARIBBEAN TRADE PARTNERSHIP ACT.

The Caribbean Basin Trade Partnership Act. (Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act) is a trade act that was made into law by public law 106-200 (CBTPS) which amends section 213(b) of the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act 19 U.S.C. 2703 (b) provides that certain preferential tariff treatment may be provided to eligible articles that are the product of any country that the President designates as a CBTPA beneficiary country. This is almost like NAFTA but for the Caribbean Basin but with one exception. Any American that travel in the Caribbean Basin (a list below) may bring back $600.00 duty free.
The President has determined that the following countries have met the rules and therefor are members:
Antiqua and Barbuda.
Aruba.
Bahamas.
Barbados.
Belize.
British Virgin Islands.
Costa Rica.
Dominica.
Dominican Republic.
El Salvador.
Grenada.
Guatemala.
Guyana.
Haiti.
Honduras.
Jamaica.
Montserrat.
Netherlands Antilles.
Nicaragua.
Panama.
Saint Kitts and Nevis.
Saint Lucia.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
Trinidad and Tobago.
