The European Union is made up of 15 different countries in Europe. This may increase in 2003 when maybe some of 13 new countries join. Some people think of European Common Market but its real name is European Union.
Most but not all the E. U. countries have one currency. For more information on their currencies see a web page on this site called EURO. (you can click on the name and go to it. That page is also on this web site.)
The EU sets the items that can be imported or kepted out, airlines that can land and takeoff, etc. for the different E.U. countries.
