Oregon has 2 Senators in Washington. They are Gordon H. Smith and Ron Wyden.
GORDON H. SMITH.
Republican.
Gorgon Smith was born in Pendleton, Oregon May 25, 1952. He has lived all his life in Pendleton. He received his BA from Brigham Young University, and his law degree from Southwestern University. He owns Smith Frozen Foods in Eastern Oregon. This company is the largest US private label packers of frozen vegetables. He has three children.
Elected to Oregon Senate in 1992. Elected Senate President 1994. Ran for U. .S. Senate to fill the term of U.S. Packwood in Spring of 1994 but lost to Ron Wyden. Ran and won for US Senate in fall of 1994 to replace Hatfield who did not run . Ran and was relected in 2002. Term will be up in Jan 2009.
Gordon Smith is on the following committees . RON WYDEN
Democrat.
Born Wichita Kansas, May 3, 1949. AB Stanford and Law School Oregon School of Law. Ron has two children. He was director for a long time of Oregon Gray Panthers.
Elected to congress 1980-1994. Ran and won US Senate Spring 1996. Term will be up in 2005.
Ron Wyden is on the following committees: Commerce, Science and Transportation, Energy and Natural Resources, Environment and Public Works, Budget, Intelligence, and Aging committee.
