for the years 2002-2004.

 

Column #1 2000 Population.  Column #2 Number of US Representative.

Column #3 Number of people each represent.  Column #4 Population Rank.  

                                                                              

Note. 3 states have not elected a US Representative at this time.   Colorado, and New York have not declared the person that won the election in November.   They will soon.   Louisiana did not have a winner and will have a new election in December.

The number of US Representative is by the US Census each 10 year on April 1.   The number at this time is based on the population as of April 1, 2000.  The population was 280,849,847 not counting Washington DC.  435 representative makes the norm at 645,632.  Each state has to have 1.   In the states with 1 (6) Montana had the most (902,195).  Wyoming at only 493,782.  On states with more than 1, Rhode Island with 2 at 524,160 each.  Utah with the most (754,844).  Idaho came close to the norm (646,977).
