BREAD PUDDING. |
| by Ted Peterson |
|
| To make a good bread pudding follow the following recipe. |
|
| 3 to 4 slices day-old bread cut up into 1/2 inch cubes. (about 2 1/2 cups.) |
| 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. |
| 3 eggs. |
| 1/4 cups raisin bits. |
| 1/4 cup sugar. |
| 1 1/2 cups milk (or 1 can evaporated milk. ) |
| 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg. |
|
| Combine the milk and sugar and cook until it just about to the boiling point. Stir so that the sugar is dissolved. |
| Beat the eggs and gradually stir into the above mixture, and then add the bread cubes, nutmeg and vanilla. |
| Cook the above and then stir in the raisins until done. |
| This pudding is done when a knife inserted 1 inch from the edge will come out clean. |
| Let it cool before eating. |
|
| Good luck. |
