READING RESISTORS

To be able to read the color code of a resistor hold the resistor so that the color rings are at one end. The first and second color stripe are the first and second digits of the value. The third color is the number of zeros that follows the first two. The fourth color stripe is the tolerance of the resistor.
O = Black
1 = Brown
2 = Red
3 = Orange
4 = Yellow
5 = Green
6 = Blue
7 = Violet
8 = Gray
9 = White
Tolerance
1% = Brown
2% = Red
3% = Orange
4% = Yellow
5% = Gold
10% = Silver
20% = No Color
