SAUSAGE LINKS ON A STICK |
| by Ted Peterson |
|
| Another appetizer that can be at most parties are small sausage links that are picked up with a tooth pick. These are the small smoked sausage links that are about 3/4 inch long. |
| Here is a good recipe that will go over good. It has a spicy sweet and sour taste. |
|
| 1 pound of small smoked sausage links. This can be from two 6oz packages or small cans. |
| 2 tablespoons soy sauce |
| 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder. |
| 1/3 cup vinegar. |
| 3 tablespoons honey. |
| 1 tablespoon cornstarch |
| 1 teaspoon shredded orange peel. |
| 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
| pepper to taste. |
| 8 oz can pineapple chunks. |
|
| Open the pineapple and save the chunks but save the syrup for the use as a sauce. If you can get some pineapple liquid use it but it will be better to use the chunks later. Add water to the liquid to make 1/2 cup. Add vinegar. honey, soy sauce, cornstarch, orange peel, ginger, garlic powder, and pepper. Cook until thickened and bubbly. |
| Mix in the small sausage links and cook until hot and then add the pineapple chunks and then cook until hot. At this point eat with toothpicks. |
|
| Good luck. |
