OREGON SERVICE DISTRICTS.

The State of Oregon has a number of special service districts. These districts can be set so that people in an area can be tax thenselves for different service that are not avallable to all. The following are ways that the law is set up with the different ways that people can set up a special service district.
Water control.
Irrigation.
Ports.
Port of Portland. (Portland Airport - Docks )
Port of Tillamook - (Railroad)
There are 19 others - This is a sample of types.
Hospital.
Fire Districts.
Mass Transit.
Tri-Met in Portland, Lane Transit in Eugene, and 9 others.
Sanitary Districts.
People Utility.
Eugene and Forest Grove Utility Districts for power.
Cemetery.
Diking Districts.
Water Supply.
Emergency Communications.
Soil and Water Conservation Districts.
Weed Control.
Chemical Control.
Weather Modification.
Health.
Highway Lighting.
Vector Control.
Park and Recreation.
Metropolitan Service.
Special Road.
Road Assessment.
Regional Air Quality Control.
Water Improvement.
Geothermal Heating.
Transportation.
County Service.
People in these districts can vote on taxing themself for the service that these districts were set up for. These districts are set up by all the voters in the districts.
