TV TAPE SPEED

The web site is listing of the tape speed for VHS and other tapes.
VHS Tapes
VHS tape is 1/2 inch wide. In the following listing the first number is what the tape is listed as. The second number is the time for standard play (SP) and the time for it to go through. The third is long play (SCP) time for the tape to run. The third is super long play.what they call EP and this is the time for it to go. (Most of the new recorders do not have SCP on them. They will play one but not record one. All times are in minutes.
T-20, 20, 30, 60.
T-30, 30, 60, 90.
T-40, 40, 80, 120.
T-60, 60, 120, 180.
T-80, 80, 160, 240.
T-90, 90, 180, 279.
T-100, 100, 200, 300.
T-120, 120, 240, 360.
T-160, 160, 320, 480.
T-180, 180, 360, 540.
The only types that you will find in store most of the time are T-30, T-120, T-160, and T-180.
Tape speed.
The speed of tape that the player will use is listed below.
VHS Standard play - 1.31 inches per seconds
VHS SLP - .66 inches per seconds
VHS - Extended play - .45 inches per second
U-Matic tape (3/4 inch) 3.75 inches per second
EIAJ #1 tape 7.5 inches per second
TV broadcast tape 15 inches per second
As you cn see you will get better results if you use more tape. By running the tape faster it will not be s good a picture. More tape will be better.
