| The US Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management ownes more than 57% of all land in the State of Oregon. The total is about 31.3 million acres. The Forest Service has 15.6 million acres, and the Bureau of Land Management 15.7 million acres. This does not include land owned by the US Park Service and other departments of the United States Government. |

| The US Forest Service administers 15.6 million acres in Oregon. They have 270 campgrounds, 12 winter sports areas, 11,000 trails miles, 1,200 miles of wild rivers, 1 National Volcanic Monument, 1 National Scenic Area, and 2 National Recreation sites.. |

| NATIONAL RECREATION-SCENIC-ETC. AREAS |
| Oregon has 2 National Recreation Areas, 1 National Scenic Area, and 1 National Volcanic Area. They are as listed below. |
| Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. |
| Hells Canyon National Recreation Area. |
| Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. |
| Newberry National Volcanic Monument. |

| The Forest Service has other centers around Oregon. They are: |
| Interpretive Center at Cape Perpetua. |
| Wallowa Valley Visitors Center near Enterprise. |
| Multomah Falls on the Columbia River near Portland. |
| Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood. |
|
| BUREAU of LAND MANAGEMENT |
| The Bureau of Land Management Western Oregon owns 2.2 million acres of forest under the Oregon and California Railroad lands act. They also owns 13.4 million acres of rangelands in South Eastern Oregon. |
| The Bureau have a total of 58 recreation areas in Oregon providing 1,379 campsites and 708 picnic spots for all types of use. |

| NATIONAL PARK SERVICE. |
| The National Park Service administers 4 of Oregon major spectacular areas. The area that they cover is not included in the % of Oregon that we listed above. The 4 are as listed below: |
| Crater Lake National Park. |
| John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. |
| Fort Clatsop National Memorial. |
| Oregon Caves National Monument. |
