A Generic Protest

Occasionally the motivation of the drug industry is painfully obvious. All other times it is simply obvious.

Dupont-Merck is working to get some legislation through the Indiana legislature that would make it harder for physicians to prescribe generic drugs. Surprise surprise.

That such legislation will raise many drug prices by 50%, while protecting a $500 million market share of the pharmaceutical company. Pharmaceutical altruism at work.

The FDA has already ordered Dupont-Merck to stop using false information in its campaign for the legislation. Drug makers? Dishonest? Imagine.
