Being a US senator is a good career move. Alan Simpson, just-retired Republican senator from Wyoming, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Biogen, a biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge, MA, according to a report in the PRNewswire (December 15). If Simpson's earnings from the pharmaceutical and biotech lobby is anything like his earnings from the insurance lobby, one might suspect that Simpson went to work for Biogen long before his December 12 election.
