Being a US senator is a good career move.

Alan Simpson, just-retired Republican senator from Wyoming, has been 
elected to the Board of Directors of Biogen, a biopharmaceutical company 
based in Cambridge, MA, according to a report in the PRNewswire (December 
15). If Simpson's earnings from the pharmaceutical and biotech lobby is 
anything like his earnings from the 
<a href="http://www.crp.org/alerts/v2/ALRTV2N09.htm">insurance lobby</a>, 
one might suspect that Simpson went to work for Biogen long before his 
December 12 election.
