Once upon a time, there was a man who never left his apartment. He worked from home. His food was delivered by a local service. Every month, his pay was automatically deposited in his bank account, and his creditors deducted their fees. He shopped online. He paid a neighbor to pick up his garbage every week. His doctor made house calls. On the rare occasions when he needed to communicate with the outside world, he used the telephone. His expenses were low; he did not need to buy clothes, and had sold his car long ago. And he was happy.
