"Well, first off,", he said, "let me tell you that I found more than I bargained for!". "Although YOU probably already knew that!", he said, looking at the 'older' 'Raelf. But the man made no comment , only motioning for Lancos to continue. "My first stop was the Low city. After greasing many a palm, I finally found someone who saw a dragon...", Lancos continued, lapsing into story mode: -- "Sure!", the citizen announced, "I was outside the Scrappy Ram, watching the battle inside." 'Battle?', Lancos thought to himself, 'Why would TrueSilver go to a battle, especially without SunStorm?' "It was almost hard to notice, what with the strange Beer creature and the weird one-eyed creature and all... [ADMIN: Just a small nod of appreciation for clever ideas here...] but i saw that Copper Dragon fly off near the start." "COPPER Dragon?", Lancos asked, taken aback slightly. "So much for THAT idea! Thanks anyway, I suppose. -- "I was heading west in order to leave the Low City when I passed a deserted patch of territory. All of sudden I heard behind me..." -- "Looking for your Dragon friend?", a deep, resolute voice questioned. "Then find out what happened --the HARD way!" Lancos turns around with weapons in hands to see a mysterious figure in dark armor steaming towards him. -- "The battle was quickly joined. He surprised me with his speed, but few can dodge two blades for long. ALthough we both gained our share of wounds, it was apparent to me that I was losing --it seemed that he was not tiring as quickly, and his newer attacks made the first ones seem like he was only toying with me originally or something. Fortunately, an idea came to me. I placed my right foot and feinted in that direction. When he reacted, I then placed my left foot back, quickly turned, and moved in that direction, putting some distance between us. I tried to use that time to grab my medallion and turn the tide more to my favor, but he saw the movement and cried 'Oh, no you don't!' and grabbed another part of the chain. Then something strange occurred --he let go of the medallion and stepped back as if in pain. Never one to let an opportunity pass by, I followed with my weapons. However he immediately jumped --causing two sure hits to be turned into one fairly minor scrape-- and landed atop a nearby building. "you may think that you and your good there has won, but I've just began, especially with YOU!', he yelled, then vanished. The comment struck me as odd: I've heard of magic objects being linked to their possessors and vice versa --which MAY be the cause of any pain he felt-- but I've always felt a bit of evil from the medallion. I don't see how he felt good from it. Maybe it's mixed or something --who knows?" "Anyways, after that encounter, I went to the healer's. While I was there, I visited my friend Brent, who was still recovering from the mob attack. Although I was mainly there to wish him luck before we left, I asked --more sarcastically than anything else-- 'By the way, you haven't seen any dragons or anything?'. To my surprise, he announced, "As a matter of fact, I DID!'. He then told me approximately where he saw the dragon head, and I was on my way there. As for what I found..." "Only a small graveyard, with some dragon's --almost certainly TrueSilver's -- footprints still in some mud. From the depth, it looks he landed quickly --or FELL-- from some height. I didn't have the time to search more. Perhaps we can do so tomorrow." A brief silence followed, only to be interrupted by ShockWave.
