All his possessions are left on the table, after a brief pause. 'I could cast a ward over the table but if anyone in _this_ inn, wanted to take anything, they could anyway.', William thinks to himself. He sees the situation outside, and deciding on Kadrys as the source of the cry, slowly approaches him and after a brief internal debate taps on the shoulder from behind. As Kadrys turns William gasps extremely audibly. He'd run for his life, if he could actually get his legs to work, but at least his complete terror keeps the charm from tacking effect. The entire life force seems to drip out of him, as he almost crumples to the ground, but he does manage to maintain consciousness . . . just. "UUmmm, you said something about charms? . . . Sir?", he says hesitantly, 'If he wants me dead, I already would have been', he thinks to himself, just managing to maintain control of himself. 'At least now I _could_ run if I let myself'. "I could try and dispell it . . . if you would like." The vampire nods his assent, and then turns back to the situation at hand subsequently ignoring the obviously unimportant. Admin: I hope this is ok Andrea, it dosen't to me seem out of character or anything, but negate it if you wish. William, stands still, gathering his attention back from the four corners of the universe to which they were scattered, and a few minutes later begins to cast. Admin: I hope this dosen't disturb anybody's plans. I would have waited longer before posting except it's friday here and I don't have access over the weekend. -- --------------------------------------------------------------- Cameron Neylon cam@gu.uwa.edu.au I can't think of anything witty enough that people From intelhf!ichips!iWarp.intel.com|uunet!munnari.oz.au!uniwa!mullet!cam Fri Jul 31 23:36:49 PDT 1992 Article: 2130 of alt.pub.dragons-inn Newsgroups: alt.pub.dragons-inn Path: intelhf!ichips!iWarp.intel.com|uunet!munnari.oz.au!uniwa!mullet!cam From: cam@mullet.gu.uwa.edu.au (Cameron Neylon) Subject: [outside inn] William's spell fails, goes inside to sulk Message-ID: <1992Jul31.093246.14354@mullet.gu.uwa.edu.au> Organization: University Computer Club --- Perth, Western Australia Date: Fri, 31 Jul 1992 09:32:46 GMT Lines: 22 William, concentrates, and concentrates, mouthing words over and over, sweat beading on his brow. The seconds ( for him at least) seem to run into hours. As the spell takes form, and the air cracklles around him, anybody could see this is highly uncontrolled magic. Either the caster dosen't have a great deal of knowledge about what he is doing, or there is something very strange going on. In this case probably the former. Finally thhe spell is finished and William hurls it at the globe, only to have it disappear three inches from his fingers. He looks around embarrasedly at the very few people who were actually watching him, and shhrinks back into his cloak, turns quietly and heads back towards the inn, trying to hide in the shadows. -- Cameron Neylon cam@gu.uwa.edu.au I can't think of anything witty enough that people would really want to see it time after time after . . ---------------------------------------------------------------
